CarHunt ("we", "our", "the app") searches public listings of used cars on several classifieds websites and shows the results in one list. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
CarHunt has no user accounts and no server of its own. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Your search parameters and your saved listings never leave your device except as described below.
Saved listings ("Favorites") are stored locally in a SQLite database on your device. Photos are cached locally to avoid downloading them twice. This data is not accessible to us or to any third party, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
When you run a search, the app requests listing pages directly from the classifieds websites you selected:
These requests contain only your search parameters (make, model, year, price, mileage, fuel type) and are made the same way a browser would make them. The app also requests daily currency rates from open.er-api.com in order to show prices in euro. No identifier of yours is attached to any of these requests. Each of these services processes requests under its own privacy policy.
The app uses Google AdMob to display banner and native advertisements. Google AdMob may collect and use data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. This may include:
In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your consent before personalized advertising is used, through Google's User Messaging Platform. You may change your choice at any time from the privacy options inside the app. You can also opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings under Google → Ads.
We do not sell or share your personal data with anyone. The "Share list" feature copies your saved listings to the clipboard, as plain text, only when you tap it, so that you can paste them wherever you choose.
The app requests two permissions: internet access, needed to fetch listings, and the advertising identifier, used by Google AdMob as described above.
CarHunt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
